Virginia June (Gray) Wood Obituary (Age 81) Virginia came into this life at Deaconess Hospital on February 15, 1928, and she left this life, also at Deaconess Hospital, on August 16, 2009. She was a life-long resident of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Elva Gray and her former husband William Wood. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Eastern Washington College. Virginia taught Elementary school for Spokane School District 81 for 18 years. She is the beloved mother of Robert Wood (Cheryl) of Spokane and daughter, Billie Vaughn of Brigham City, Utah, and loving sister to Geraldine Conrad, Gail Young and Dennis Gray, all of Spokane. Virginia is a grandmother of 12, great-grandmother of 19, great-great-grandmother of one, and aunt to several nieces and nephews. In addition to her love for her family, her kind and tender heart created a loving home for many dogs and cats over the years! Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and aides that helped her the last few weeks of her life. Goodbye Grandma Ginny, you will always be missed and eternally remembered. A Memorial Service will be held at Sunset Chapel located in Fairmount Memorial Park, Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
