W. Mae Simmons Obituary (Age 80) Sunrise: June 19, 1931 in Newellton, Louisiana to Willie and Ernestine Lewis Sunset: April 30, 2012 in Spokane went home peacefully to be with the Lord. Mae accepted Christ at the age of 11. She married Rev. Freeman Simmons January 25, 1965 in Bremerton, WA and he preceded her in death in June 2011. They are now reunited in Heaven for Eternity. They were called to Spokane in 1967 to minister to Morning Star Baptist Church and she was in charge of the Music Department, which was her favorite department for 32 years. She particularly loved the Songs of Zion church music. Mae is survived by her son George A. Elleby of Seattle; sisters Dorothy Crumpton, Verna Williams, Mildred Wandix and Dolores Walker all of Bremerton; nieces Wilma and LaVerne and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Monday 10AM-8PM at Heritage and Funeral Service 11AM Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3909 W. Rowan Ave. To my son, relatives, church family and many friends "Be sure to remember always that God loves you all - and so do I with all my heart, it has been a good life - I hope to see all of you in Heaven some day, I'll be waiting up there"!
