Warren met Ruth Templeton during their sophomore year of high school in 1937. The high school was a boarding school at that time and Warren and Ruth came from different places to attend there. Warren was captain of the football team and Ruth was class valedictorian. They were married soon after graduating and resided in Missoula where their daughter Carla was born. When WWII began, Warren joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in California. Their second daughter, Diane was born there. After being discharged, the family moved to Washington State and lived in Wilbur for a short time. Ruth worked as a telephone operator and Warren worked in the family grocery store. They moved to a farm in Medical Lake, where Tanya, the third daughter was born. They would later move to Spokane where Warren would start a trucking business with his brother-in-law. He then purchased Washington Auto Carriage in Spokane and Ruth would retire from Whitworth College. Warren is survived by his wife, three daughters, ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10 am.
