Wayne J. Garrity Obituary (Age 85) Passed away August 6, 2013. He was born on April 18, 1928 in Old Town, ID to Hazel Inez and Thomas Garrity. Wayne grew up in Spokane, WA and graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School. He met the love of his life Virginia in 1949 at Pattison?s Roller Rink and they were married in 1950 in Coeur d? Alene, ID. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 6.5 years and spent his career working for the U.S. Postal Service. Wayne enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, doing puzzles, travelling, pruning his roses, and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife; daughters Denise (Berl) Colley and Katie (Rick) Cargill; sons Tim, Patrick and Scott Garrity; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister Betty Cole and a brother Michael Garrity. Preceded in death by brother Donald and sister JoAnn Thielan and sons David and Daniel Garrity. A celebration of life will be held at Heritage Chapel on Saturday, August 10 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lilac Services for the Blind, 1212 N. Howard Street Spokane, WA 99201, online at lilacblind.org.
