Willard "Bill" C. Neighbour Obituary
(Age 87) Born on January 29, 1923 in Magnolia, MN to Clare Lyle and Florence Carlson Neighbour and died peacefully at his home on September 23, 2010 in Nine Mile Falls, WA. He had four sisters Marion Cleaver, Joyce Smith and Bonnie Laster who preceded him in death and is survived by his younger sister Enid Montes of Independence, MO. Bill was a WWII Marine Corp., 5th Division (Iwo Jima) veteran. He graduated from the College of Emporia (Kansas) with a masters degree. In 1956 he married the love of his life Donna Jean Riley of St. Joseph, MO. They moved to San Diego, CA where he was a teacher at juvenile hall for 23 years and where they raised their four children, three boys Clare, WC Jr. and Jon and one daughter Gayle Yvonne Allison. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family deeply. He loved to play golf, pool and being by the ocean. He was a life-long supporter of the arts and education and valued knowledge above all things. He was a poet and philosopher and his words have touched many. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Donna J. Neighbour, his four children, Clare Lyle, Willard C., Jon A. and Gayle Y. and her husband Jack W. Allison of Spokane; Grandchildren Craig and Darcy Erickson of Deer Park, David and Kristy Lentz of Spokane and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday Sept. 28, 2010 at Driscoll Boulevard Baptist Church, 4815 N. Driscoll Blvd.
