William C. "Bill" Thompson Obituary (Age 87) William "Bill" C. Thompson, 87, passed away on August 25, 2017 at Spokane Soldiers Home. He was born on July 6, 1930 in Bremerton, WA to William C. Thompson, Sr. and Bessie (Dean) Thompson. Bill graduated from Bremerton High School and went on to get his Bachelors of Science from Eastern Washington University. On April 5, 1954, he married his life partner Tsuneko Thompson at the America Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. After 20 years in Special Intelligence, Bill retired as a Master Sargeant from the US Army and moved to Spokane in 1969. He worked for the State of Washington and retired after 21 years as a fraud investigator for DSHS. He resided in North Spokane on Sutherlin Place for 46 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, gardening, house projects and spending time with the grandchildren. In his youth, he was an amateur boxer. He is survived by his spouse, Tsuneko Thompson; daughters Julie (Lynn) Singleton of Gig Harbor and Cindy Thompson of Whidbey Island; sons Jack Thompson and John (Diane) Thompson of Spokane, and Mark (Georgie) Thompson of Ohio; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Friday September 1 at Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane. The family encourages memorial donations be made in Bill's name to the Alzheimer's Association of Washington at 1403 S. Grand Blvd, Spokane, WA, 99203 or www.alz.org.
