William Carrell Giles Obituary (Age 84) William C. Giles passed away October 21, 2017 at his home in Spokane Valley, WA. He was born May 14, 1933 to William and Zona Giles in Bridgeland, UT. Bill graduated from Roosevelt High School in Roosevelt, UT. He went on to serve in the US Navy during the Korean War. Bill married Zelma L. Powers on August 25, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT. Bill completed courses in Basic Auto Mechanics, graduated Electronics Programs, Radio Institute and TAD Electronics where he took top honors in class. He taught at Utah Tech in Electronics and worked for the FAA for 37 years, where he retired as an Electronic Tech. He was also an Electronic Engineering Instructor at Spokane Community College for 10 years. His hobbies included electronics, automotive, golf, baseball, reading, building, boxing, music and spending time with his family. Bill was a volunteer at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Boy Scouts of America and Guardian AD Litem. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Zelma L. Giles; children, Margaret Giles, William (Caroline) Giles and Christina (Rick) Jeromchek; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Orson (Sharon) Giles; and sister, Linda (Jerry) Sproul. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Giles; and brother, Ted Giles. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 13608 E. Belle Terre Ave., Spokane Valley, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W.
