William F. Hamby Obituary (Age 88) Passed away March 5, at the VA Medical Center in Spokane. He was born April 25, 1923 in Sheridan, WY to Robert and Lena Hamby. He moved to Ismay, MT at an early age and graduated from Ismay High School. In 1951 he joined the Air Force and retired after 21 years of service as a MSGT. He met Carole Holmberg at a barn dance in Spokane in 1952, they married in 1955. After moving around the US they settled back in Spokane in 1968. He worked for Kiemle and Hagood until retiring in 1987. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Local 1474 and was an active member of the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council. He is survived by his wife Carole Hamby; children Debbie (Bill) Trowbridge, Jack (Cindy) Hamby and Bob Hamby, all of Spokane; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and his brother John (Shirley) Hamby. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles and Mel Hamby, sisters EllaMae Obie and Kate Redman. Graveside inurnment 11AM Saturday March 10, 2012 at Greeenwood Memorial Terrace.
