William Fulton "Bill" Moody Obituary
Bill Moody, of Spokane, passed away peacefully on August 7th after celebrating his 90th birthday and 62nd wedding anniversary in late July. He was born on July 22, 1925 to Leo and Evelyn Moody in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife Suzanne ?Sue ? Moody, his two daughters Nancy (Tom) Arkins and Cheryl Moody; and one granddaughter, Jessica Moody. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and older sister. Bill was raised in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and after high school he spent three years in the Navy. Bill then relocated following his parents to Spokane. He attended WSU and graduated with a MBA in School Administration. He was a proud Cougar! Bill and Sue made their home in the Spokane Valley. Bill was employed by the West Valley School District for most of his career, the majority of those years as principal of Argonne Junior High. He also sold insurance for PEMCO and continued to do this after retiring from the school district. Bill had a big heart and quick wit. He had many interests, especially the outdoors. He enjoyed annual salmon fishing trips with his dad to Westport, Washington, and elk and waterfowl hunting trips with friends. Many fond family memories were made during summers spent at Priest Lake. During retirement years you could find Bill hiking up Tower Mountain with his Chesapeake Bay Retriever and volunteering. He volunteered at the Spokane Valley Walk in the Wild Zoo, the Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity. He was a former elder, deacon, and long time active member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church. Bill and Sue were also fortunate to travel to many countries and made many trips to visit their children and grandchild in Western Washington, Alaska, and Arizona. Please join us for a Memorial Service on Friday, August 14th at 3 pm at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 North Pines Road, Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances to the Spokane Symphony or the Opportunity Presbyterian Church.
