March 30, 1932 – February 19, 2026

Donna Mitchell passed away peacefully February 19, 2026 at Hospice House of Spokane at the age of 93. She was born on March 30, 1932 to Athol and Lucielle (Burns) Evans in Spokane. She was the youngest of two daughters and graduated from North Central HS.

Donna married Fred Mitchell and had two sons, Rick and Dennis. She loved playing golf and played for over 75 years at Esmeralda and Wandermere. She was the Women’s Club President and Club Champion at Esmeralda Golf Club for over 40 years. She sang with the Sweet Adelines Chorus and in a quartet group. Throughout that time she competed in both groups, taking her to several cities including London, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Alaska. The biggest highlight was winning with both groups. She was able to live at home alone and was still driving.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Athol and Lucielle, and her sister Shirley. She is survived by her sons Rick (Torree) and Dennis (Kim). She also had six grandchildren and eight great-grandsons.

A celebration of life will be held on April 25, 2026 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (9704 N. Division) at 1:00 p.m., with a light reception of coffee and cookies to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Spokane Humane Society.
